Georgina Stevens

Environmental sustainability

Over a career spanning 15 years, Georgina has gained a depth of experience in, and earned an enviable reputation for her work across the sustainability spectrum. She has worked for environmental consultancies, social and environmental NGOs, and for leading private and public companies. 

In her last role, Georgina headed up one of the five pillars in Marks & Spencer's award winning and pace-setting Plan A programme. Her role included developing the company's partnerships strategy with charities, strengthening partnerships with suppliers, and sculpting M&S' customer engagement strategy. 

Prior to this Georgina set up the CR/sustainability teams for two Virgin Group companies; Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays, and developed and implemented their social and environmental sustainability strategies. This included working on issues from sustainable tourism, carbon footprinting, sustainable procurement, energy, water and waste management, to community engagement.

She has also worked for several NGOs, including WWF, where she advised companies across a range of sectors, including Vodafone, Boots, Canon, M&S, Virgin, MBNA, BT and Nokia on a range of environmental issues.

 Georgina writes for several publications on Sustainability, including the guardian newspaper. She is a regular speaker on the sustainability circuit.
