Purpose-led growth

An experienced, board-level Managing Director with a track record of successfully transforming, growing and leading purpose-led organisations, Chris has over twenty years’ experience of creating and maximising commercial and social value for organisations of various types, from start-ups to more established businesses and non-profits.

He has particular expertise in business development, business model development and transformation, product development, marketing strategy and execution, and strategic partnerships. Although instinctively commercial in outlook his values and love of a challenge means that Chris has almost exclusively operated in the complex grey area where commercial and societal objectives meet.

After stints in investment banking and strategy consultancy early on in his career Chris worked for Oxfam in a variety of marketing and fundraising roles. He was part of the senior team that led the merger formed the UK’s largest cancer organisation, Cancer Research UK, where he was the Marketing Director (having held previous roles as Deputy Director of Fundraising and Communications at one of the merged organisations).

Most recently Chris worked at Which? as the Managing Director of Which? Publishing and the Managing Director of Which? Financial Services where he consistently delivered top decile revenue and profit growth for this highly regarded, values-led organisation. He also ran their Indian subsidiary for a number of years. During his career Chris has consulted for the NSPCC, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Samaritans amongst others.

Chris is exceptionally skilled at working with marketing, commercial (including fundraising) and leadership teams to transform and embed purpose and values into sustainable value creation for all stakeholders.
