With the exception of the US Government, CRUK are the biggest funders of cancer research in the world. Their work has helped to see survival rates in the UK double over the last 40 years, so that today, half of cancer patients will survive. But with one in two people getting cancer at some point in their lifetime, there is still more to do. In response, CRUK has set itself the ambition to accelerate progress so that three-quarters of people survive the disease within the next 20 years.
Prevention (reducing people’s risk of developing cancer) forms one of the key strategies for meeting this bold ambition. And armed with the insight that four in ten cancers could be prevented by lifestyle changes, CRUK is committed to working in partnership with other organisations and sectors to encourage behaviour change - empowering the public to reduce their risk of cancer, or spot cancer sooner.
C&E is working with CRUK to:
- Align internal stakeholder around the concept and process of mission-led partnering
- Identify key platforms on which collaboration will be based
- Identify the most resonant potential partners – and compelling propositions to support viable, effective, mutually value-adding engagement
- Help to navigate the partner engagement process and the co-creation of problem-solving collaborations focused on the prevention agenda and delivering very clear strategic value for each partner
In this ongoing engagement, strong internal alignment has been secured and the partner engagement process is in full swing…
