After gaining a first class BSc honours in Environmental Studies, Teresa undertook her Masters in Environmental Technology at Imperial College London, studying contemporary environmental issues within the fields of ecology and pollution. She explored novel and alternative micro and macro solutions, as well as legislative compliance to environmental problems. Teresa assisted National Power's research into deforestation by acid rain and obtained Erasmus European Union funding to investigate heavy metal pollution in the River Liffey Estuary.
Subsequently, Teresa's love of enquiry took her into research journalism where she undertook in-depth research and wrote reviews on a range of commercial products and services. Her reports were regularly published in the business media.
Driven by her passion for 'good causes' Teresa moved to the voluntary sector, combining her research and writing skills to inform and support the Corporate and Trust fundraising strategies and programmes of a number of national charities including The Children's Trust and BLISS. She has also worked as a Research Consultant for a range of organisations, including The Imperial War Museum, Poplar HARCA and Oxford Philanthropic.
Her environmental interest remains strong, and she has gained funding for and developed a variety of voluntary community initiatives, including a project to increase species diversity funded by The Tree Council.
Teresa is a 'thinker and doer' in equal measure, she is highly valued for her ability to provide innovative and contemporary research resources and techniques, high quality, client-tailored research, and for her strong attention to detail.
A mother of two children, she is also a marathon runner and has volunteered as a Youth Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Open Award Leader.
