A highly regarded strategy and sustainability consultant, Candace previously served as Director of Business Strategy, Sustainability for Wal-Mart.
In that role, she was responsible for working on Wal-Mart's commitment to integrate social and environmental sustainability into its business practices by focusing on three big goals: 1) to have zero waste, 2) to use 100% renewable energy, and 3) to bring more sustainable products and services to its customers. Additionally she served as a lead resource for almost 2 million Walmart associates around the globe as they learned to lead more sustainable lives, supported by one of the largest and most successful corporate employee engagement programmes.
Prior to joining Wal-Mart, Candace co-founded Urban Oasis Development, LLC. Urban Oasis is a real estate consulting firm focused on developing urban brownfields using environmentally friendly building practices. She and her partners founded Urban Oasis after winning the Best Blended Value prize at the Global Social Venture Competition.
Candace is a proven and driven agent for social change and a proponent of sustainable business practices that improve quality and simultaneously drive innovation and profit. She has travelled widely, is familiar with multiple cultures and is multi-lingual.
Candace's approach combines 'big picture', clarity of thought and a great 'make it happen' mindset and capability. She completed her formal education at Howard University and graduate studies at Milano - The New School for Management & Urban Policy in New York City.
