C&E Breakfast Dialogue on 5th March

Focused on driving innovation and business growth through CR, this session will be co-led by Manny Amadi of C&E and Jeb Brugmann who in 2004 co-established The Next Practice* with Prof. C.K. Prahalad - the acclaimed business guru and author of ‘The Fortune at the bottom of the Pryamid’.

As the emphasis of CR evolves from risk-led drivers towards opportunity, innovation and sustainable business, how should practitioners harness growth through CR? How do you overcome the range of challenges (know-how, access to resources, organisational structure, culture, etc) that must first be navigated before the promise of opportunity is realised? And how do you sufficiently align CR programmes around your company’s business strategy and ensure you secure full commercial value from your CR investments? These, and related topics will be explored at the session.

C&E’s Breakfast Dialogue series are free, by invitation, informal discussions held over a light breakfast and involving a dozen or so senior participants from corporate, NGO and public sector backgrounds. They are highly interactive, informed discussions in which participants share their perspectives, experiences and insights - under Chatham House rules. Guests for this particular session will be drawn mostly from companies representing a range of business sectors.

*Established in 2004 by business strategy guru C.K. Prahalad, The Next Practice became the leading advisory service helping companies develop profitable, scalable businesses serving 'base of the pyramid' consumer markets. New ventures established with its support have won wide recognition by the World Economic Forum and in the world's leading business schools.
As a founding partner, Jeb Brugmann managed the firm's innovation processes in business analytics, consumer insight, product/service development, business modelling, and channel development. Under Jeb’s leadership with new partners, TNP’s scope now includes innovation in new markets, urban development, and sustainability.

What every board should be talking about

IE Business school brought together a panel of influential opinion leaders on 6th December to discuss the evolving and critical role of the board...and what needs to be done to ensure that the board is discussing the crucial items for future proofing organisations.

In a lively and informed session held in London, the panel discussed 5 essential issues which should be addressed by the board: infrastructure, technology, internationalization, communication, the balance of continuity and change - whatever the size, location or sector of the organisation. The panel of experts offered insight and experience in these areas, including issues such as boardroom diversity, and CR and sustainability
